" Seekers of the Road, 113 w. 5th Street, Pittsburg Walking into one of Pittsburg's newest retail outlet is almost like taking a step back in time to the 1960s hippie era.
Incense burns in the background, tie-dyed shirts are prevalent and the proprietors - Cassandra Groves Rieck and Aaron Rieck - make no secret of the fact they consider themselves free spirits. The location opened March 17 and will be featuring an expanding offering of arts and crafts from local artisans and craftspeople.
Both Cassandra and Aaron are into arts and crafts in their own areas of expertise. Aaron creates in wood burning and leather work while Cassandra uses her creative talents on dream catchers, tie-dye fabric and photography.
Both owners also paint. Aaron plans to offer classes at the location in wood burning techniques and many offer other classes and workshops in the future.
The shop's name comes from the fact that both partners enjoy traveling. "we love to travel and see the world and create along the way," Aaron said. The location is seeking new artist who would like to have their merchandise displayed for sale.
They said they have room for about 25-to-30 craftspersons and artists. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday."
We had a few Easter Eggs turned in, but there are still several out there.
